Calaveras Habitat for Humanity Awarded Nonprofit of the Year!

Habitat for Humanity Calaveras has been selected as a 2019 California Nonprofit of the Year by Assemblyman Frank Bigelow.  The mission of Habitat for Humanity Calaveras is to provide affordable workforce housing to hard working families in Calaveras County who will be asked to contribute at least 400 hours of sweat equity and repay an affordable mortgage.  The group will be honored by state senators and assembly members during a celebration luncheon as part of California Nonprofits Day on June 5th.  Each year, California nonprofits generate over $200 billion in revenue and bring in $40 billion in revenue from outside of California.  The unpaid labor contributed by volunteers at nonprofits is equivalent to 450,000 full-time jobs every year.
