Vehicle Pursuit Leads To The Arrest Of Local Man On Multiple Charges 

A vehicle pursuit, led to the arrest of an Arnold man on multiple charges. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Sunday morning around 9:30 a patrol deputy initiated a vehicle stop on Mandel Road near White Pines. The driver failed to yield and sped away. The suspect continued at a high rate of speed fleeing westbound on Highway 4, forcing several motorists off the roadway. As the suspect vehicle turned onto Avery Sheep Ranch Road, the driver threw a dog out of the window. The dog was able to scurry off the road. For public safety concerns, the pursuit was terminated. Deputies and CHP officers set up a perimeter and began searching the area. The suspect’s vehicle was located on San Domingo Road in Murphys. A short time later, 20 year old Skyler Gregory of Arnold was located by CHP officers and was taken into custody and booked into the Calaveras County Jail. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and items used to siphon gasoline. Gregory later admitted to siphoning gasoline in the Arnold area. He was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on a Calaveras County Superior Court warrant as well as felony evading a peace officer, reckless driving, cruelty to an animal, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license. His bail was set at $75,000.
