Large Scale Illegal Marijuana Operation Found In Amador County

Earlier this week, Amador County, City and State law enforcement agencies served search warrants stemming from a year and half long investigation into a large scale illegal commercial marijuana cultivation operation.   Monday morning the Amador County Combined Narcotics Task Force (ACCNET), Amador County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, Western El Dorado Narcotics Enforcement Team, and California Department of Food and Agriculture executed a search warrant at a residence located at 18908 Shake Ridge Road outside of Sutter Creek.  Simultaneously the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office, Amador County District Attorney’s Office, California Department of Fish and Game, California National Guard, San Jose Police Department, Sacramento County High Crimes Task Force, and Orange County Sheriff’s Department were executing search warrants at three other residences with members from ACCNET.  Ultimately 10 locations were searched with 5,450 marijuana plants, 78 pounds of processed marijuana, and 4 guns being seized.  ACCNET has identified 12 suspects with charges ranging from marijuana cultivation for sales, conspiracy, money laundering, and tax evasion.  The investigation is still active and on-going at this time.
