San Andreas CHP Reports A Relatively Safe July 4th 

The San Andreas CHP office reports the July fourth holiday was relatively safe on the local roadways.   According to San Andreas officials, during the latest maximum enforcement period (MEP) between 6 p.m. July 3 through midnight July 7, officers handed out nine moving traffic violations, four vehicular equipment citations and responded to four crashes, all with either minor or no injuries, and made just one DUI arrest.  Across the state the CHP logged 1,317 DUI arrests.  The next statewide maximum period, will be over the September Labor Day weekend.  The Amador CHP, also reports they will be out in full force over the 4 days of the Amador County fair later this month watching for impaired drivers.
