Rumble Strips Complete

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced yesterday that they have completed work on a project to install rumble strips in the median and outside shoulders of the roadway in Calaveras County and Amador County. The installations are along Highway 4 in Calaveras County from Angels Camp to the Calaveras/Alpine County Line.  Highwaay 26 in Calaveras County from Mokelumne Hill to the Calaveras/Amador County Line and Highway 26 in Amador County from the Calaveras/Amador County Line to Route 88.  Rumble strips are designed to alert drivers when their vehicles leave their traffic lane. As tires pass over the rumble strips, drivers can hear the noise and feel the vibration produced by these rumble strips. These strips are ground into the pavement surface.  This $4.2 million project was performed by Dreambuilder Construction.
