CCSO Will Feature A Cold Case From Their Files

Occasionally, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office will feature a cold case from their files in hopes it possibly brings new information to light, which may help solve the case. The sheriff’s office has chosen to highlight the case of Mark Dantche, reported missing on June 2, 2015. Dantche was last known to be driving a blue, 1996 Subaru wagon with a yellow kayak on top, California license plate number 4YMF103 was last known to be in the Rail Road Flat area. It’s believed he had planned to go fishing in the West Point/Wilseyville area prior to his disappearance. Cell phone records indicate it may have been used between the areas of Murphys and Sheep Ranch. Extensive searches were conducted and no traces of Dantche or his vehicle have been found. Missing for 5 years Dantche, would now be 50 years old. At the time of his disappearance, he stood 5’8” tall, weighed 190 pounds, with brown eyes and grey hair. Photos of Dantche are posted on both the KVGC and Calaveras Sheriff’s Facebook page. The sheriff’s office urges anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Mark Dantche, or any other information regarding his disappearance to please call the investigations division anonymous tip line at 754-6030.
