Jackson Signals Support Of New Building For ACRA

The Jackson City Council signaled support of a new building for the Amador County Recreation Agency and approved the purchase of new holiday decorations for Jackson’s Main Street at their meeting last night. The council voted to approve a resolution in support of a proposal for ACRA to purchase a new building behind the Lowe’s shopping center. ACRA has been without such a facility since losing its lease on a building in downtown Jackson. Councilmember Wayne Garibaldi, who also serves on the ACRA Board of Directors, made the case to support the purchase to the rest of the council. The matter will go before the Amador Board of supervisors today. The council also approved the purchase of new decorations for downtown Jackson during the holiday season. The new decorations will cost the city $12,000 and include a garland and bow style festive look for both light poles and hanging decorations overhead across Main Street shaped as candle holders.
