 More COVID Cases In Amador & Calaveras

On Tuesday, Amador County Public Health reported two additional cases of COVID-19 in the County.  One case is an adult female in her 70s who is a resident of Jackson. The second case is an adult male in his 20s who is also a resident of Jackson and is linked to Monday’s reported case. Both of these individuals sought testing because they were symptomatic, however neither are currently hospitalized. These new cases are isolated and recovering at home. And, Calaveras Public Health reported one additional case of COVID-19 in Calaveras County yesterday as well. The case is an adult male over the age of 65 years old. The case resides in the West Point area. The source of exposure is being investigated.  Both Amador & Calaveras County health officials are investigating the new cases to determine any possible persons who may have had close personal contact with the positive individuals. Close contacts will be assessed and monitored for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 illness.  With businesses in the foothill region opening and additional travel to and from areas with more COVID-19 activity, it is important that community members and workers continue to take simple steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19. For testing information visit the Public Health Department website in your county.  Total positive COVID-19 cases in Amador to date = 16.  Total in isolation = 6. Total recovered = 10. Total currently hospitalized = 0. Calaveras County stands at 29 persons that have been infected with COVID-19 in the county, Currently, 16 of them have recovered.
